25th June - 1st July 2026
The sun moves through each of the Human Design gates; one gate every 5-6 days. As it does, it brings a collective theme to humanity, a spark on the treasure map of our Human Design chart that can be felt and invites exploration. I call these Stories from the Stars. Plus read to the bottom for details of upcoming events.
From today until 29th June, it’s the turn of Gate 52: The Gate of Stillness.
Pull out your Human Design chart and see if you have Gate 52 defined (coloured in). If you do, you already know this energy, you have consistent access to it at all times. You might feel it a little stronger right now, and you’ll see it in those around you. If Gate 52 is undefined, it’s usually blank in your chart, but right now you’ll have a strong sense of the themes for the next few days, as will everyone else.
Gate 52 sits in the Root Centre and is the gate of stillness, concentration, and the profound power of the pause.

The core energy here is about the mountain. Gate 52 is sometimes called the Buddha gate, and it carries the wisdom of keeping still, gathering focus before moving, and trusting that the pause is productive even when everything around you is pushing for action. (What a perfect day to head off on my holiday!)
The Root Centre is a pressure centre, the place in the body associated with adrenaline, stress, and the drive to do. Gate 52 sits here as a counterweight, transforming that pressure into a concentrated stillness from which focused action can emerge. The impulse this gate generates is meant to be a signal, pointing toward where you are moving too fast, scattering your energy, and missing the clarity that arrives only when you stop.
In its high expression, Gate 52 brings a quality of calm that is almost magnetic. Richard Rudd describes people with this gift as those who remain completely unflustered by external crises, emotional turmoil, or conflict. There is an anchoring quality here that others feel and are drawn to. People with this gate defined (and that’s all of us for the next few days) have a capacity to be truly still, and from that stillness, to see clearly what actually deserves their focus and what can be released.
The high expression can also look like the wisdom to wait. To resist the pressure to act before the moment is right. To sit with a question or a direction until something in the body settles and a clearer answer emerges. It is the energy of the person who understands that conscious restraint is a form of power, and that the pause before right action is never wasted time.
In its low expression,
the pressure of the Root Centre tips into stress. There is a restlessness - a driven, frantic quality that moves from task to task without ever truly landing or concentrating. The body is busy but the focus is scattered, and the result is a kind of exhaustion that comes from constant motion without direction. This is what Richard Rudd (Gene Keys) calls the shadow of stress: the belief that action itself is the answer, and that to pause is to fall behind.
Or it might look like the opposite: a freeze. So overwhelmed by the pressure to move that movement becomes impossible, and stillness tips into inertia rather than the grounded, purposeful pause it is meant to be.
Please note: we all move through the high and low expression of all parts of our Human Design chart. The aim is to notice what you notice rather than to ‘work on yourself until you become a high expression of every part of your chart.’ Each Story from the Stars is instead simply an invitation to observe, for me it’s more of a ‘I wonder how the start of my holiday will be different when I know this is the energy available to me more than usual over the next few days’. The noticing, the awareness, starts a shift inside you, without you having to create some big change-yourself program.
Because the Sun is currently transiting through Gate 52, this energy becomes collective. You might notice the world demonstrating a huge amount of the shadow expression of this gate, stress (Richard Rudd, Gene Keys): a collective inability to be still, a frantic over-scheduling, a culture that treats busyness as virtue and rest as laziness, and a creeping anxiety that comes from never truly pausing.
Alternatively, you might see the higher expression: people choosing to slow down, to concentrate deeply on one thing rather than many, and discovering that the stillness they feared was the very thing that allowed clarity to arrive.
The invitation of Gate 52: put the brakes on. Even briefly. Let the mountain in you settle. The focus, the clarity, and the right next step are all waiting on the other side of the pause.
Some journalling questions for you to reflect on Gate 52:
Where in your life are you moving fast and feeling scattered? What might become clear if you allowed yourself to be still with it for a moment?
Is there a decision you have been rushing toward? What would it feel like to pause and let the answer arrive rather than forcing it?
Where does stress show up in your body? What is it actually asking for underneath the urgency?
Think of a time when you paused before acting and things went better as a result. What did that teach you about the relationship between stillness and clarity?

What is one area of your life where you could bring more focused, concentrated attention rather than spreading yourself across everything at once?
