Inhale and Exhale
Inspiration: To be breathed into by God
Sometimes, God shapes her mouth as if she is about to say the word EXPAND and blows into me. Wideness is what fills me. My peripheral vision opens up and I notice my hand-pan, my paints, the social enterprise I want to set up, courses I want to be on, places I want to go, friends I want to see. Many things are begun and enjoyed. I am a social and activity butterfly.
Sometimes, God shapes her mouth as if she is about to say the word FOCUS and blows into me. Narrowness is what fills me. Complete and utter obsession with one thing. Flowers. Abstract art. Decorating wedding cakes. I will speak, dream and do little else. One thing receives all my attention. I am very boring to hang out with.
Sometimes, God inhales and I turn inwards. Endings, rest and solitude are all I care about in this space. Everyone else can fuck off.
Inhale and exhale.
Right now, I’m in inhale-mode. I have made a list of everything that I can see is coming to an end in my notes app and I am ticking off the little round circles as each is completed.

Expand and contract.
Some are things I have loved and will love to do.
Some have been going on for months and I have bitched and complained and yet they will leave me strangely empty when the dot is pressed and they drop off the list.
I have the gate 42 in my Human Design chart - endings will be a constant theme in my life.
I am becoming more moon-like in my cycles, with little conscious attempt to do so. As I age my skin is becoming thinner, more translucent, more reflective of that silver disc in the sky.
End and begin.
And as we shift into the New Moon as of this morning, I find myself with space to allow new intentions to show themselves inside the pages of my journal.
This new moon highlights gate 12, the gate of caution in Human Design. This is our invitation to cultivate inner alignment - clearing our inner channels so that we can allow creativity (and God’s breath) to move through us unimpeded. Clearing our minds so we can tap into the right timing to move our creations into the world; but only when the world is ready to receive our words and art. And, when it is time, letting them come.
I am reassured by this as some of the endings above will take many weeks yet, and they are the acts of clearing the channels. While at the same time opening up to what else wants to arrive in their place.
Inhale and exhale.
Expand and contract.
End and begin.
