The Will Centre in Human Design

The Will Centre in Human Design is the seat of self-worth, integrity, willpower, and your ability to make and honour commitments.

It governs how you value yourself and how you show up in the world with confidence, trust, and alignment.

Take a look at your Human Design chart (or create yours here).

The Defined Will Centre

If the Will Centre (also known as the Heart or Ego Centre) is coloured in (regardless of the colour), this means you have a DEFINED Will Centre.

The Undefined/Open Will Centre

If the Will Centre is white but has some of the gates (numbers) coloured in, this means your Will Centre is UNDEFINED.

If the Will Centre is white and none of the gates are coloured in, your Will Centre is OPEN.

For the purposes of this workshops below, we’ll treat UNDEFINED and OPEN Will Centres in the same way.

Misalignment in the Will Centre

The Will Centre is deeply tied to self-worth. When it’s out of alignment, it can manifest in ways that undermine your confidence, integrity, and ability to follow through.

Here are some common signs of misalignment:

  • Overcommitting to tasks, people, or projects to prove your value.

  • Breaking promises to yourself and feeling ashamed or untrustworthy.

  • Saying “yes” to avoid guilt, even when it compromises your well-being.

  • Chasing external validation through overwork or perfectionism.

  • Feeling you’re never “good enough,” no matter what you achieve.

  • Comparing yourself to others and feeling like you always fall short.

  • Struggling to set boundaries and prioritise your own needs.

  • Feeling unworthy of rest, success, or recognition.

The energy of the Will Centre asks us to honour our commitments—but only when they come from a place of integrity and self-respect. Misalignment often occurs when we push ourselves beyond what is sustainable or agree to things out of fear, guilt, or the need for approval.

Bringing Your Will Centre Into Alignment

When the Will Centre is in alignment, it allows you to:

  • Honour your commitments from a place of power and authenticity.

  • Trust yourself and build a relationship of integrity with your inner voice.

  • Release the need for external validation and root your worth internally.

  • Set boundaries without guilt and say “no” when it’s right for you.

  • Recognise your inherent value, no matter what you do or achieve.

Aligning with your Will Centre isn’t about pushing harder; it’s about healing the wounds and patterns that keep you stuck in cycles of proving, guilt, and burnout.

Join Me for Align Her Worth

In February, I’m running two live workshops focused entirely on the Will Centre: Align Her Worth. These three-hour sessions are designed to help you understand how your Will Centre operates and guide you to realign with its highest expression.

Through a combination of Human Design insights and HeartHealing®—a powerful science-meets-spirituality modality—I’ll guide you to heal the wounds that keep you disconnected from your true worth.

I’d love to meet you there. You can learn more and book your spot here.
